Brazil Data Cube team attends at GEO Week 2019 – Ministerial Summit in the Australia.
The Brazil Data Cube (BDC) project team from the Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE) attended in GEO Week 2019 – Ministerial Summit, held in Camberra, Australia, on November 4th, 2019. At this event, it was showing the first results of grant offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Group on Earth Observations (GEO), an intergovernmental organization that works to improve and coordinate global OE systems and promote broad open data sharing.
Dr. Gilberto Camara, Secretariat Director of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), represented the BDC team at the GEO/AWS Earth Observation Cloud Credits Programme side event, presenting four results of the project “Brazil Data Cube (BDC) using AWS for Land Use and Cover Change”:
- The MODIS satellite image time series classification to produce land use and cover maps using AWS EC2;
- Sentinel TMS, Landsat TMS and CBERS TMS services using AWS Lambda to access the satellite images from Sentinel, Landsat and CBERS AWS buckets;
- The application “BDC – Forest Monitor”;
- The creation of data cubes from Sentinel images for the Brazilian territory using AWS Lambda;
