Brazil Data Cube project in the GEO Open Data and Open Knowledge Workshop in Geneva.
The Brazil Data Cube project was presented yesterday in the GEO Open Data and Open Knowledge Workshop.
The Open Data and Open Knowledge is a two-day workshop organized by the Data Working Group, together with the GEOSS Platform and the GEO Knowledge Hub teams, that took place in Geneva from 15-16 June 2023. The workshop is providing the GEO community with an opportunity to discuss technical advances, challenges, and solutions.
Dr. Gilberto Camara presented the Brazil Data Cube project in the Session 1 “Open Space-based Data and Data Cubes Initiatives” with the title “Brazil Data Cube: big data analytics for deforestation and land use in Brazil“. In this session, other similar initiatives were presented, such as “Digital Earth Africa status and priorities” and “Swiss Data Cube”.
This event, which took place in person for the first time in three years, provided the GEO community with a valuable opportunity to discuss technical advancements, challenges, and potential solutions. The workshop builds upon the endorsement of the GEO Statement on Open Knowledge in 2021 and aims to facilitate the adoption of open knowledge practices across all GEO Work Programme activities.
