Brazil Data Cube team attends at Brazilian Symposium on Geoinformatics – GEOINFO 2019
The Brazil Data Cube (BDC) project team from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) attended in XX Brazilian Symposium on Geoinformatics – GEOINFO 2019, held at INPE, from November 11 to 13, 2019. The GEOINFO series is an annual conference for exploring ongoing research, development and innovative applications on geographic information science and related areas.
In this event, some team members presented their project-related work in different formats.
In the technical session on November 11th, Alber Sanchez, PhD student, presented the paper entitled “Classifications of Clear Deforestation Using Deep Learning”, of his authored along with Michelle Picoli, Pedro R. Andrade, Rolf Simões, Lorena Santos, Michel Chaves, Rodrigo Begotti and Gilberto Camara.
In the demo pich, on November 12th, Felipe Souza, master student, presented the paper entitled “GGSOM: self-organizing map-based assessment tool”, of his authored along with Rafael Santos and Karine Ferreira.
In the short pich of the last day, November 13, we had several works presented:
- Rodrigo Adeu, master student, presented the paper entitled “Evaluating Growing Self-Organizing Maps for Satellite Image Time Series Clustering”, of his authored along with Karine Ferreira, Pedro Andrade and Lorena Santos.
- Gabriel Sansigolo, master student, presented the work “Designing a Platform for Sharing Earth Observation Scientific Data” of his authored along with Gilberto Queiroz and Karine Ferreira.
- Fabiana Zioti, master student, presented the work “Analysis of tools for processing large volumes of spatiotemporal data”, of her authored along with Gilberto Queiroz and Karine Ferreira.
- Matheus Zaglia, master student, presented the work “Brazil Data Cube metadata cataloging with Spatio Temporal Asset Catalog”, of his authored along with Lubia Vinhas, Gilberto Queiroz and Rolf Simões.
- Katyanne Conceição, PRODES fellow, presented the paper “The use of the GEOBIA approach to detect the advance of agricultural activity in the arc of deforestation”, of her authored along with Michel Chaves.
